TD MLA Somireddy wants Lokesh to be Deputy CM

Vijayawada: An orchestrated move is on in the Telugu Desam to elevate Nara Lokesh as deputy chief minister.

Some TD leaders are openly advocating this and singing praise of Lokesh’s “contributions and capabilities.” MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy has expressed his support for this on social media. A decision on this rests with chief minister Chandrababu Naidu.

Lokesh, who handles the education and IT portfolios in the state cabinet is also the party’s general secretary.

The suggestion came first from TD Politburo member Srinivasulu Reddy and it was later supported by assembly deputy speaker and Undi MLA Raghurama Raju. Chandramohan Reddy cited Lokesh’s Yuvagalam padayatra to hail his leadership quality. Former MLA SVSN Verma said the credit for increasing the TD membership to one crore must go to Lokesh.
