TD Meet: Lokesh Bats for Door-to-Door Campaign
Lokesh opined that the leaders who take up door-to-door campaigns would be having better chances for their political success.
Vijayawada:The Telugu Desam party has kick-started a two- day training programme to party leaders in the name of TDP’s Leadership Conclave held at its headquarters of Mangalagiri in Guntur on Monday.
The party's national president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, national working president and minister for education N Lokesh, ministers, politburo members, public representatives and other leaders garlanded the statue of TDP founder and former chief minister NT Rama Rao and paid rich tributes to him.
The conclave aimed to discuss 10 issues -- including coordination between the government and the party, efficient usage of resources, preparation for the local body polls, impact of El Niño; and feedback on the implementation of welfare schemes and developmental projects at the ground level from the public representatives.
Lokesh opined that the leaders who take up door-to-door campaigns would be having better chances for their political success. Regular interaction with the people would also help to develop close association with them, including the young generation, he said.
He underscored the need to give recognition to those who work at the local levels for strengthening the party.
Meanwhile, finance minister Payyavula Keshav gave a presentation on the Swarna Andhra Vision-2047 document, explaining how the policies formulated by the chief minister are addressing the future needs of the state.
He said, “What Chandrababu thinks today-the nation thinks tomorrow.”
Keshav thanked the CM for filling up the Prakasam Barrage by 200 times by diverting nearly 500 tmc-ft of Godavari water through the Pattiseema lift irrigation scheme. He termed Chandrababu Naidu as an asset not for the Telugu Desam party but for the Telugu race.
