TD, BJP Leaders Seek Action Against Rice Miller
The TD and BJP leaders questioned why officials have not taken action against the miller soon after the FCI had rejected the rice consignments.
Kakinada:AP Civil Supplies Corporation director Y. Malakondaiah, East Godavari district BJP president P. Nagendra and others have demanded that district collector in-charge Y. Megha Swaroop take stringent action against a rice miller in Undrajavaram mandal, who is facing charges of transporting PDS, fortified and rotten rice to the Food Corporation of India (FCI).
The TD and BJP leaders questioned why officials have not taken action against the miller soon after the FCI had rejected the rice consignments.
Megha Swaroop said an inquiry committee has been appointed and no rice miller will be spared for wrong-doing. The official said already permission of
CMR for the rice mill has been cancelled. Its paddy stocks have been shifted to other mills.
