Tapovanam Ashram Seer Sachidananda Saraswati Attains Siddhi

Sachidananda Saraswati Swami had been a strong disciple of Sringeri Seer Sri Bharathi Theertha Maha Swami.

Kakinada:Tapovanam Ashram Seer Sri Sachidananda Saraswati Swami (59) attained “Siddhi” during the early hours of Friday following a heart attack at his Tandava Ashram at Kummarilova near Tuni.

The Seer had been ill for the past few days and under treatment at a private hospital. The hospital discharged him two days ago. He had been taken to the ashram, where he passed away.

Sachidananda Saraswati Swami had been a strong disciple of Sringeri Seer Sri Bharathi Theertha Maha Swami.

On hearing about his death, many devotees and people of the area came to the ashram and paid their homage to Swamiji. Telangana minister Konda Surekha and her family members rushed to the ashram and paid rich floral tributes.

Devotees bid a tearful farewell to the Tapovanam Ashram Seer on Friday evening, when his last rites had been performed as per the Sastras under the supervision of various Seers and Swamis of other mutts.

Former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and former ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Dadisetti Raja, and others expressed their condolences.

Jagan Mohan Reddy underlined that Sachidananda Saraswati preserved Vedic culture and extended service activities. He played a key role in developing the Tapovanam Mutt as a centre for spiritual pursuit and inspired thousands of devotees towards a path of virtue and inner awakening.

Ramakrishnudu said he had spoken to Swamiji when he had been in the hospital recently. He said Sachidananda Saraswati attained Siddhi at an early age. He pointed out that Tuni and surrounding areas had become popular as many devotees from far and wide visited the Ashram.

Dadisetti Raja recalled his experiences with the Swamiji and said the latter had made efforts to lead the people on the right path in their lives.
