Tanuku Couple Leave Child On Chinchinada Bridge, Commit Suicide

West Godavari: In a tragic incident in the district, a young couple committed suicide by jumping off a bridge into the Godavari River, leaving their three-year-old child on the bridge before taking the drastic step on Thursday.
As per reports, the incident took place at Chinchinada in Yelamanchili mandal, the district. The deceased, identified as Dodda Venkata Sai Krishna and Sirisha, were from Velpur in Tanuku mandal.
Police, who reached the site after getting information of a child found alone on the bridge, immediately reached the spot and took the child into custody. The couple had come to Chinchinada bridge on a bike at night.
The couple were married 6 years ago and Sai Krishna, who worked as a driver in Hyderabad, fell into debt and came to his relatives' house in Bheemavaram two months ago
Initial reports suggest that the couple died due to financial difficulties. An audio reportedly recorded by Sai Krishna revealed that they were taking the extreme step due to debt and financial burden and that no one was responsible for their death.
A case has been registered, and an investigation has been launched into the cause of their death. Meanwhile, police have launched a search operation in the river to trace the missing couple.
