Tamil Nadu Fishing Boat Seized Off Krishnapatnam Coast

Fisheries officials and Marine Police seized a Tamil Nadu fishing boat allegedly caught fishing in Andhra Pradesh territorial waters off Krishnapatnam coast. Seven fishermen were on board.

Fisheries department officials, along with Marine Police, intercepted and seized a Tamil Nadu fishing boat for allegedly fishing in Andhra Pradesh territorial waters off the Krishnapatnam coast on Sunday.

The boat, bearing registration number IND-TN-02-2485, was intercepted around 1 pm, about 6 km from Krishnapatnam Port, with seven Tamil Nadu fishermen on board. It was brought to Juvvaladinne Fishing Harbour and handed over to the Isukapalli SHO for safe custody and further legal action.

Assistant director of fisheries S.K. Chand Basha said the department had seized seven boats belonging to Tamil Nadu and Puducherry since June 31, 2026, and the boat seized on Sunday was the eighth. All the boats were allegedly caught fishing in AP territorial waters and are currently berthed at Juvvaladinne Fishing Harbour.

The task force patrol team comprised T. Srinivasulu, Fisheries Development Officer, Chillakur; Village Fisheries Assistant U. Ranjith, Kodur; M. Anjaneyulu, SHO, Venkatachalam; K.V. Ramanaiah, PC, Venkatachalam; and B. Ashok, PC (Marine), Dugarajapatnam.
