Taiwan Offers Scholarships, Stipends up to Rs 60,000
TEEP and Taiwan scholarships offer stipends, internships and study opportunities

Vijayawada: Taiwan is offering scholarships, stipends and research opportunities to Indian students, with its Taiwan Experience Education Programme (TEEP) providing living stipends of up to Rs 45,000 a month and Taiwan scholarships offering around Rs 60,000 a month to Master’s and PhD students, representatives of Asia University said during a visit to Vignan University at Vadlamudi in Guntur.
Under TEEP, operated by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, Indian students can undertake three- to six-month research laboratory internships. About 500 Indian students are currently participating in the programme. Undergraduate scholarship recipients can receive Rs 40,000–45,000 a month, while Master’s and PhD students can receive around Rs 60,000. Forty-seven Indian students received Taiwan Scholarships this year.
The delegation also highlighted the Huayi Scholarship for three-month to one-year Mandarin courses, offering exposure to Taiwanese culture and higher education. Taiwan Education Centres in Indian universities are promoting scholarships, internships and exchange programmes.
Asia University Chair Professor and Dean Lin Chun-Wei, Prof. Ching-Shien Hsu, Prof. Charles C.N. Wang, Dr Ying-Rong Ho and others discussed a long-term partnership with Vignan University in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, smart healthcare, big data, robotics and the circular economy.
Prof. Lin said India’s expanding STEM talent pool could support the growth of the AI and semiconductor industries and attract Taiwanese investment.
