Vijayawada: Timely intervention by the police in Bapatla district saved the lives of three individuals, including a mother and her two daughters, who attempted to die by suicide on a railway track near the Stuartpuram railway station. The incident occurred on Sunday morning and the swift action by sub-inspector Bhagyraj and his team from the Veduplapalli police station were crucial in averting the tragedy.

According to reports, police received a call informing them of a woman attempting to take her own life along with her two daughters on the railway track.

Following the directives issued by SP Tushar Dudi, sub-inspector Bhagyraj mobilised his team and rushed to the scene. They arrived just in time to prevent the impending tragedy and successfully rescued the woman and her two children.

Upon questioning , police discovered that ongoing family disputes were the root cause of the woman’s distress. In a compassionate move, the officers accompanied the family to their residence, where they provided counseling and encouraged dialogue to peacefully resolve their differences. The family was safely reunited, fostering hope for a better future.

Expressing gratitude, family members thanked the Veduplapalli police and Bapatla district SP Tushar Dudi for their efforts in saving the lives of their loved ones. Local residents also expressed their appreciation for the police's quick action.

The SP urged individuals to seek solutions to family issues and to avoid making drastic decisions stemming from stress. He encouraged residents to think about the well-being of their families and children before contemplating severe actions.

Recognizing the diligent work of the sub-inspector Bhagyraj and his team, SP Dudi commended their efforts, stating that maintaining vigilance was essential for providing better services to the community.
