Kurnool: The Swarna Rathotsavam was conducted at Srisailam temple on Sunday to mark the Arudra star. Special rituals, including Mahanyasapurvaka Ekadasha Rudrabhishekam and Annabhishekam were performed at the temple in the morning.
The festival that started from Gangadhara Mandapam proceeded to Nandi Mandapam. Before the procession, special poojas were performed for Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Bhramaramba Ammavaru in the chariot.
The festival featured folk art performances, including kolatam, drum music, Nama Sankeertanam and Chenchu dance. Temple executive officer M. Srinivasa Rao, assistant commissioner E. Chandrashekhar Reddy, executive engineer M. Narasimha Reddy, priests, Vedic scholars and devotees participated in the Utsavam.
