Swami Pushkarini to Remain Closed for 40 Days in Tirumala
The maintenance is carried out every year ahead of the annual Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams, which are scheduled to be held from September 15 this year
Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will close the sacred Swami Pushkarini, located beside the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Tirumala, for 40 days from August 1 to September 10 to undertake annual repair and maintenance works.
The maintenance is carried out every year ahead of the annual Srivari Salakatla Brahmotsavams, which are scheduled to be held from September 15 this year.
TTD officials said the water works department would carry out repair and maintenance works from August 1 to 31. As a precaution against possible heavy rains, cyclones and other adverse weather conditions, the Pushkarini will remain closed for an additional 10 days from September 1 to 10.
During the 40-day closure, devotees will not be allowed to enter the Pushkarini and the daily Pushkarini Harathi will also remain suspended.
TTD has appealed to devotees to take note of the temporary closure and extend their cooperation during the maintenance works.
