Alipiri: With summer vacations and the weekend coinciding, Tirumala has witnessed a massive surge in the influx of devotees. Pilgrims are thronging the holy town for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara.
The vehicle checking process at the Alipiri checkpoint is experiencing significant delays, leading to vehicles being backed up all the way to Garuda Kudali. Consequently, devotees are facing hours-long waits.
Devotees who have pre-booked tickets for darshan and various Sevas are particularly inconvenienced. They are expressing concerns that they might miss their allotted time slots and be denied entry for the services.
Currently, there are 45 SPF (Special Protection Force) personnel and 15 Vigilance staff stationed at the checkpoint. Devotees believe that increasing this number would expedite the checking process and alleviate the congestion.
