Stone Laid for Two ₹800 Crore Units at IFFCO Kisan SEZ in Nellore

He thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for the recent AP Cabinet meeting clearing the establishment of industries in the 2,700-acre IFFCO Kisan SEZ.

Nellore:The integrated agro-park at the IFFCO (Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited) Kisan Special Economic Zone (SEZ) near Nellore witnessed laying of foundation stones for two manufacturing units with an investment of ₹800 crore.

Addressing a large gathering on the occasion at Buchireddypalem on Monday, Lok Sabha member from Nellore Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy said this will mark the beginning of significant employment opportunities for unemployed youth in the Kovur Assembly constituency.

He thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for the recent AP Cabinet meeting clearing the establishment of industries in the 2,700-acre IFFCO Kisan SEZ.

Prabhakar Reddy pointed out that ₹8.5 crore have been sanctioned for construction of the main road and the work will begin shortly.

He took part in the ground-breaking ceremony for replacement of dilapidated premises in the cremation ground with a new structure in Ward No. 12 of Buchireddypalem town in the presence of MLA Vemireddy Prasanthi Reddy. The Lok Sabha member said he has sanctioned ₹25 lakh from his MPLAD fund for construction of the new building.

Later, Prasanthi Reddy said after becoming an MLA, she has been allocating funds for providing basic amenities in several villages with the support of MP Prabhakar Reddy, CSR funds, and MPLAD funds. These include provision for a cremation ground on the Isakapalem Road with a compound wall and basic facilities. She asked officials to expedite the completion of Karmakrutula building under construction in the Gandhinagar area.

Those who participated in the event included municipal commissioner D. Balakrishna, municipal chairperson Morla Supraja, TDP senior leader Koduru Kamalakar Reddy and leaders of TD, BJP and Jana Sena.

Bharath announces ₹1 crore for Amarajeevi’s statue

Kurnool:Industries and Commerce minister T.G. Bharath on Monday announced that the TGV Foundation will contribute ₹1 crore for a statue of Amarajeevi Potti Sriramulu, who sacrificed his life for the formation of Andhra Pradesh. He pointed out that the state government has allocated 6.8 acres of land in Amaravati for installation of Potti Sriramulu’s statue.

The minister paid floral tributes to the statue of Potti Sriramulu at the Flower Market in Kurnool on the occasion of Amarajeevi’s death anniversary, along with district collector Dr. A. Siri, KUDA chairman Somisetty Venkateswarlu and municipal commissioner P. Viswanath.

Speaking on the occasion, Bharath said the sacrifice of Potti Sriramulu can never be forgotten, as he gave up his life to fulfil the long-standing aspiration of the Telugu people for a separate state. He pointed out that the coalition government has decided to observe both the birth and death anniversaries of Potti Sriramulu as state functions in recognition of Amarajeevi’s supreme sacrifice.

The minister called upon youth to follow the ideals of Potti Sriramulu and dedicate themselves to the service of the state and the nation.

District collector Dr. Siri said Amarajeevi’s sacrifice remains a permanent chapter in AP’s history. He asked people to draw inspiration from Potti Sriramulu’s life and work selflessly for the development of society and state.

Photojournalist Dr. Dasgupta receives international award

Anantapur:Dr. Kaushik Dasgupta, a photojournalist and creative artist, has received the “International Certificate of Journalistic Excellence” at the Global Awards for Excellence 2025 presented in Bengaluru by UK-based Global Book of Excellence.

At the event, the organisation has recognised 55 eminent personalities from India and across the world for their outstanding social contributions and the impact they have made on the world.

Others honoured at the ceremony include Padma Sri Syed Kirmani, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his legendary contribution to Indian cricket; Ashith Mohan Prasad, former director general of police, south Indian film actress Karunya Ram, and renowned historian Dr. Vikram Sampath.

Dr. Dasgupta says this international recognition is a proud moment for Puttaparthi and the wider region, apart from being a personal milestone.

Centre releases Rs 988 Cr to AP for job scheme

Vijayawada:The Central government has released `988 crore to Andhra Pradesh towards Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

Union minister of state for rural development Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar disclosed it on ‘X’ on Monday and said that the timely release of funds would ensure prompt payment of wages and strengthen livelihood security.

Union minister flags off Vande Bharat from Narsapuram

KakinadA:Monday marked flagging off of Vande Bharat train from Narsapur to Chennai by union Steel and Heavy Industries minister of state Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, AP Water Resources minister Nimmala Ramanaidu, AP Assembly deputy speaker K. Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju, South Central Railway additional general manager Satya Prakash, West Godavari district collector C. Nagarani, West Godavari superintendent of police Adnan Nayeem Asmi and MLAs Bommidi Naicker (Narsapuram), Bolisetti Srinivas (Tadepalligudem), Pulavarthi Ramanjaneyulu (Bhimavaram), and V. Ramu (Gudivada).

Speaking on the occasion, Srinivasa Varma said Vande Bharat train is a jewel in the crown for coastal districts, as it will contribute to development of trade, commerce and coastal fisheries industry. The extension of Vande Bharat to Narsapuram will be of particular benefit to students and those doing jobs, as Chennai can be reached in just nine hours.

The union minister said 48 locations have been identified for construction of RUBs and RoBs at railway crossings, including at Tadepalligudem.

Others present on the occasion included APIIC chairman Manthena Rama Raju, joint collector T. Rahul Kumar Reddy, Women Cooperative Financial Corporation chairperson Peethala Sujatha and Minorities Corporation chairman M.A. Shariff.

He said that with this, a total of `7,669 crore for 2025-26 to AP was given for MGNREGS.

AI to sync AP’s health data for preventive care

Vijayawada:Health secretary Saurabh Gaur announced on Monday that health data of people in AP available with the Medical and Health department will be synchronised using artificial intelligence (AI) for predictive analysis and preventive care.

“This will help us estimate the severity of diseases in certain areas and provide better healthcare services to patients in the state,” Saurabh Gaur told media persons after taking part in the “Regional Multi-Stakeholder Convergence Workshop to Finalise India’s National AI Strategy for Health” organised in Vijayawada under the joint aegis of World Health Organisation, ICMR and the central government.

The Health secretary said they have taken up digitisation of health services related to Ayushman Bharat. Next February, a draft will be finalised for the India AI Impact Summit. Once the central government finalises the draft post the summit, the strategy for usage of AI in the health sector will be taken up throughout the country, including Andhra Pradesh.

Saurabh Gaur said Ayushman Bharat health accounts will be synced with Manamitra WhatsApp governance to ensure continued healthcare for people using emerging technologies to improve medicare.

Villagers tie defeated candidate to wooden pole

Complaint says Congress candidate attempted to attack the victorious Sarpanch’s husband

Adilabad: A group of villagers tied Bheemrao, who contested the Sarpanch poll with Congress support and lost, to a wooden pole after giving him a sound thrashing in Itikalpahad village in Sirpur (T) mandal of Komram Bheem Asifabad district on Monday.

The villagers alleged that Bheemrao attempted to attack Poshetti, husband of Tanubai, who was elected as Sarapanch with BJP support.

Bheemrao allegedly could not digest the defeat and attempted to manhandle Poshetti. The villagers reported the matter to the police.

The accused denied the allegation that he attempted an attac and asked the police to investigate and ascertain facts.

Jana Sena to form committees to strengthen party

Kakinada:Jana Sena state general secretary Ram Talluri on Monday announced that to strengthen the party from grass root levels, the party leadership has decided to form committees in each constituency of the state, starting with Pithapuram, represented by Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan.

The general secretary made the announcement at the party office in Chebrolu while interacting with Jana Sena leaders and cadres belonging to Narasingapuram, Gokivada, B. Kothuru, Jamulapalli, Kumarapuram, Virava, Navakhndravada, Mallam, Jalluru and Chitrada villages in Pithapuram mandal.

Later, Ram Talluri told media that the party will appoint ward-level in-charge committees comprising only those who are influential among people. He said if any problems or differences of opinion arise in the committees, a five-member committee at the constituency-level will resolve them.

The general secretary said no members for the Pithapuram constituency in-charge committee have been decided yet, though a list of persons has been received. Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan will take a decision in this regard, he added.
