State Election Commission Issues Five Notifications for Local Body Elections on April 28
For the election of the mayors of Greater Visakhapatnam and Guntur Municipal Corporations, the District Collector or Joint Collector of the respective district has been authorised by the Election Authority to convene the special meetings
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission on Tuesday issued five notifications for the election of mayors, chairpersons, and vice-chairpersons to urban and rural local bodies.
As per the schedule, a notice will be issued on April 24, and a special meeting for the election of presiding officers to the local bodies will be held on April 28 at 11 a.m.
The SEC released notifications for the election of the mayors of Greater Visakhapatnam and Guntur Municipal Corporations, the chairperson of Kuppam in Chittoor district, the vice-chairperson of Macherla in Palnadu district, and two vice-chairpersons of Tadipatri in Anantapur district.Additional notifications were issued for the election of chairperson and vice-chairperson of Tuni municipality, and chairperson of Palakonda Nagar Panchayat.
For the election of the mayors of Greater Visakhapatnam and Guntur Municipal Corporations, the District Collector or Joint Collector of the respective district has been authorised by the Election Authority to convene the special meetings.
For the other local bodies, the State Election Commissioner has directed the district election authorities to appoint a gazetted officer to oversee the election process.
