Standing Committee Inspects Visakhapatnam Port
Committee tours facilities, reviews infrastructure, cargo handling and upgrades

Visakhapatnam: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways visited the Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) on Monday and reviewed port operations and infrastructure.
The committee members were received by Roshni Aparanji, deputy chairperson, VPA, along with senior officials. During the visit, they toured key operational areas, where the deputy chairperson briefed them on the port’s overall performance and strategic initiatives.
The panel was apprised of infrastructure facilities, cargo handling capacity, modernisation and mechanisation measures, covered storage, solar power projects and sewage treatment plant (STP) water recycling for industrial use. Officials also highlighted investment opportunities and measures to boost import-export activities through the port.
