SRM University-AP Bags ₹13.71-Cr Research Grants
Twenty-six faculty members secure funding from top national agencies

Vijayawada:Twenty-six faculty members of SRM University-AP, Amaravati, have secured competitive research grants from premier national funding agencies, including the Department of Science and Technology, Anusandhan National Research Foundation, Indian Council of Medical Research and National Board for Higher Mathematics.
The grants enabled the university to secure 24 sponsored research and consultancy projects worth ₹13.71 crore during the first half of 2026. The projects cover advanced materials, biosciences, waste-to-wealth technologies, literature and mathematics.
The highest grant of ₹1.76 crore was awarded for genomic surveillance-driven phage therapy, while an Indo-French project on plasmid-mediated phage resistance received ₹99.9 lakh.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ch. Satish Kumar said the achievement reflected the university's strong research culture and would promote impactful discoveries, collaborations and student opportunities.
