SRM Hosts Healthcare Innovation Forum
The programme, one of the few of its kind in India, integrates electronics engineering, artificial intelligence, computer science and medical sciences to equip students for careers in healthcare innovation.

Vijayawada: SRM University-AP, Amaravati, on Saturday hosted the INCOSE India Healthcare Industry-Academia Dialogue Forum to prepare students for emerging challenges in healthcare innovation.
Organised by the department of health engineering in association with the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), India, the forum brought together 13 senior leaders from the healthcare technology, medical devices, digital health and research sectors to discuss curriculum development, research partnerships and industry collaboration.
The programme, one of the few of its kind in India, integrates electronics engineering, artificial intelligence, computer science and medical sciences to equip students for careers in healthcare innovation.
The forum was led by Prof. K.A. Sunitha, founder head of the department of health engineering and coordinator of the BRAIN Lab. Industry representatives included experts from Philips, Baxter International, Stryker, Medtronic, Evai Technologies, InnAccel, ROPODS, AMTZ and RICH.
Vice-chancellor Prof. Ch. Satish Kumar said the dialogue would support the launch of the university's B.Tech. in Health Engineering programme, scheduled to commence in August 2026. He highlighted the university's growing research ecosystem, including its internationally recognised Quantum Research Centre.
Discussions focused on AI-driven healthcare solutions, internships, industry-led projects and future research areas, including mental healthcare.
The forum concluded with industry leaders pledging support for curriculum development, research collaborations and student engagement to strengthen the new programme.
