Floodwater Inundates NH-16 At Ichchapuram, Highway Traffic Suspended
Vehicular movement on NH-16 at Ichchapuram in Srikakulam district was suspended again as floodwater continued to flow across the highway following heavy rains.

Srikakulam: Vehicular movement on National Highway-16 at Ichchapuram in Andhra Pradesh was suspended again on Thursday, as floodwater continued to flow across the highway following heavy rains in neighbouring Odisha.
The flooding has disrupted traffic on the key highway connecting Visakhapatnam and Kolkata, leaving several vehicles stranded. Heavy rainfall in the upper catchment areas of Odisha has led to a massive inflow of water into rivers and streams, affecting several parts of Srikakulam district.
Authorities had briefly allowed heavy vehicles to pass on one side of the road under controlled conditions. However, traffic was suspended again as the water flow remained dangerous.
Motorists travelling between Visakhapatnam and Kolkata are facing delays, with trucks, lorries and passenger vehicles stranded along the route.
Authorities have urged commuters to follow police instructions and avoid attempting to cross the flooded stretch until it is declared safe. Vehicular movement will resume once water levels recede and officials determine that the highway is safe for traffic.
