Sri Sudarshana Sahasra Sthambha Mandapam Inaugurated at Dokiparru
Temple founder-trustees P.V. Krishna Reddy and Sudha Reddy performed the ceremonial rituals in the presence of Vedic scholars and entered the newly built mandapam at 10.40 am during the auspicious Tula Lagna.
VIJAYAWADA: The newly constructed Sri Sudarshana Sahasra Sthambha Mandapam (thousand-pillared hall) at the Sri Bhu Sametha Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Dokiparru in Gudlavalleru mandal was inaugurated on Saturday amid Vedic chants and religious fervour.
Temple founder-trustees P.V. Krishna Reddy and Sudha Reddy performed the ceremonial rituals in the presence of Vedic scholars and entered the newly built mandapam at 10.40 am during the auspicious Tula Lagna.
The inauguration was preceded by Ashtottara Shata Kalasabhishekam, Sri Bhu Sametha Sri Venkateswara Swamy Asthanam, felicitation of Vedic scholars and Maha Nivedana. A special Srinivasa Kalyanam was performed after the inauguration, attracting a large number of devotees from Dokiparru and neighbouring areas.
The mandapam features intricate spiritual and traditional motifs, including sculptural representations of the 24 incarnations of Lord Maha Vishnu and 24 forms of Goddess Mahalakshmi, along with depictions of the Ashta Dikpalakas and Navagrahas.
A striking sculpture of Lord Vishnu reclining on the serpent Adisesha with Sridevi and Bhudevi has been installed on the eastern side of the temple. Garuda idols have been placed on the northern and southern sides, while a towering idol of Dasanjaneya Swamy has been installed as a symbol of protection for devotees.
The trustees also inaugurated a Sahasra Deepalankarana Seva Mandapam and a mirror hall in the south-eastern part of the temple complex.
The new Sahasra Sthambha Mandapam will be used for the temple’s regular and fortnightly worship rituals. Vedic scholars said devotees participating in rituals at the mandapam and having darshan of the presiding deity would receive divine blessings.
