Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam at Vontimitta on April 11, Says Minister
TTD, govt to host grand Kalyanam in Vontimitta with CM Naidu’s support and focus on pilgrimage push.
Anantapur: Endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy directed TTD officials and Kadapa district administration to make elaborate arrangements for the Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam to be held on April 11 as part of Sri Kodandaramaswamy Brahmotsavam in Vontimitta of the Kadapa district.
At a review meeting on Monday ahead of the event at Vontimitta, the minister recalled that after the truncation of Andhra Pradesh, Ekasilanagaram of Vontimitta had been merged with the TTD in 2015. Since then, TTD, with support from the state government, has been holding the Sri Sita Rama Kalyanotsavam in a grand manner.
Ramanarayana Reddy said that after the coalition government had been formed in 2024, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has instructed that the Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam be celebrated on a large scale, particularly where Annamacharya lived, with cooperation from the TTD.
The minister directed that the district administration, TTD and temple authorities coordinate with each other so that the huge number of devotees coming are not inconvenienced. He asked police authorities to make special arrangements in view of the Chief Minister’s visit.
Ramanarayana Reddy underlined that the state government is determined to develop Vontimitta into a great pilgrimage site.
