Sravana Masam Rush Registered at Durga Temple

Temple executive officer V.K. Seena Naik plunged into action to streamline heavy crowds from early morning by issuing instructions to the staff personally, and special measures were implemented to ensure that the Rs.500 darshan queue moved swiftly, allowing devotees to have darshan without long delays.

Vijayawada: The Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam (Durga temple) on the Indrakeeladri hilltop in Vijayawada was filled with devotees, mainly women, for the Sravana Masam traditional pujas and rituals on Sunday. Thousands of devotees from both Telugu states, AP and Telangana, flocked to Indrakeeladri to have darshan of Sri Kanaka Durga Devi, making good use of Sunday’s holiday.

Seena Naik plunged into action to streamline heavy crowds from early morning by issuing instructions to the staff personally, and special measures were implemented to ensure that the Rs.500 darshan queue moved swiftly, allowing devotees to have darshan without long delays.

Seena Naik stated that along the path to the lift, temple staff regularly checked the queue lines and arranged alternative routes to manage the rush. He further stated that a large number of devotees also participated in special rituals such as Suryopasana, Chandi Homam, Laksha Kumkumarchana, and other sevas. He added that the distribution of free prasadam and Anna Prasadam continued throughout the day, serving thousands of pilgrims.
