Space Fields To Set Up Rocket Fuel Facility in Anantapur
Sources said the facility is expected to strengthen AP’s position as a destination for advanced aerospace, defence and space manufacturing while supporting India’s objective of achieving technological self-reliance in critical strategic sectors.
Anantapur: Space Fields Pvt Ltd, a deep-tech aerospace and defence startup incubated at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, will establish an advanced solid propellant (rocket fuel) processing facility in Anantapur district.
The company has received approval for the allotment of 121 acres at the industrial park in Thimmasamudram.
The proposal was cleared by the State Investment Promotion Committee (SIPC) and the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) following a detailed technical evaluation, sources said.
The project would generate around 300 direct high-skilled jobs, with commercial production targeted to begin by July 2028.
According to sources, the startup develops next-generation rocket propulsion systems and solid propellants for defence, aerospace and space applications.
Given the specialised nature of energetic manufacturing and stringent safety regulations, the project requires a large dedicated campus with extensive safety buffer zones, sources added.
The Andhra Pradesh government will provide external infrastructure, including water supply, high-voltage power connectivity and road access to the facility.
“The next generation of manufacturing will be driven by deep-tech companies working at the intersection of defence, space and advanced engineering. Space Fields is a great example of this new India,” IT minister Nara Lokesh said.
Sources said the facility is expected to strengthen AP’s position as a destination for advanced aerospace, defence and space manufacturing while supporting India’s objective of achieving technological self-reliance in critical strategic sectors.
