Somireddy Sets Condition For CBI Probe Into DSC
Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said the government was ready for a CBI probe into the DSC recruitment if the YSRC accepted the agency’s findings in other cases.
Sarvepalli MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said the government was ready for a CBI inquiry into the recent DSC recruitment, but set a condition for the YSRC.
Responding to the YSRC’s demand for a CBI probe on Saturday, Chandramohan Reddy said recruitment to 16,372 teacher posts, including the sports quota, was conducted transparently and there was no scope for irregularities.
He said the YSRC should first accept the CBI findings in the disproportionate assets cases involving former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and the Vivekananda Reddy murder case. He alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy had earlier questioned the CBI’s credibility in court and that several accused in the murder case had also challenged the agency’s findings.
“If the YSRC genuinely trusts the CBI, it should accept its findings in these cases and withdraw its counter-petitions,” Chandramohan Reddy said, adding that he would then persuade Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to order a CBI probe into the DSC.
He said the government had no apprehension about a CBI investigation and alleged that the YSRC was demanding the probe out of frustration over the recruitment of 16,372 teachers after a five-year gap.
