Nellore: Sarvepalli MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy has adopted two underprivileged children as part of the P4 (People, Public, Private, Partnership for Progress) programme launched by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

At a function held in Vedayapalem, Nellore, on Saturday, the MLA provided clothes, books, bedding, footwear, and study material to Varshitha (Class 7) from Muttukuru and Yogendra (Class 8) from Veerampalli. Both children come from poor backgrounds and are physically challenged due to previous accidents.

Somireddy assured full educational support and said efforts are underway to enrol the children in Gurukulam schools. Praising the P4 programme, he urged companies to channel CSR funds into development of tribal areas and local education.

He cited SEIL’s contribution towards student transportation and noted that Muttukuru High School is being developed into a model school. Actress Manchu Lakshmi is expected to visit the school soon.

He called on industries to address pollution impacts and contribute to community uplift through CSR partnerships. “With collective effort, real change is possible,” he said.
