Smart Infrastructure Works in Amaravati To Be Accelerated

Vijayawada: Chairperson and managing director of the Amaravati Development Corporation (ADC), D. Lakshmi Parthasarathy, has directed officials to speed up Capital Investment and Infrastructure Projects (CIP) works in Amaravati in tune with the growing population of the capital city.
Reviewing the ongoing development works in Abbarajupalem, Thulluru, Nelapadu, Shakamuru, Ainavolu and Nekkaluru villages of Amaravati on Wednesday, she instructed officials to achieve 100 per cent targets within the next four months and transform the villages into smart villages under the smart capital city initiative.
During the visit, village elders interacted with the ADC CMD and shared their suggestions and concerns regarding developmental activities. Lakshmi Parthasarathy said the State government’s objective was to build Amaravati into a smart capital city with modern infrastructure and improved civic amenities.
She stated that the CIP works were being executed after identifying the requirements of residents in the capital region villages. The ADC chief instructed Chief Engineer Ch. Dhanunjaya to ensure that all key infrastructure and public utility requirements of villagers were taken into account while implementing the projects.
Emphasising quality standards, Lakshmi directed officials to complete all works within the stipulated targets. Responding to a request from residents of Nelapadu village, she ordered the immediate installation of high-mast lights.
Keeping the summer season in view, Lakshmi also instructed officials to complete borewell works to ensure drinking water supply in all 26 villages. Further, she directed that major drainage canal works be completed before the monsoon and linked to the main canals to prevent flooding and improve sanitation.
