VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada Member of Parliament Kesineni Sivanath on Sunday announced that a skill centre will be established at KBN College within the next three months. He also urged the college’s alumni, settled across India and abroad, to actively contribute to the development of both the institution and the city.
Speaking on the occasion, Sivanath described KBN College as a beacon of education for poor and middle-class families in the West constituency. He said the institution was founded with the noble objective of providing quality education to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
“Even though I did not study here, I feel KBN College is my own college,” the MP said, highlighting his emotional connection with the institution.
Noting that KBN College is celebrating its 60th anniversary, he said thousands of its alumni have gone on to establish themselves across the globe. He cited the example of B.N. Reddy, who contributed to the manufacture of key components for India’s Chandrayaan mission, as evidence of the institution’s growing national and international reputation.
