TIRUPATI: Kuppam constituency is set for a new phase of industrial and social development with six Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed on Saturday in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The agreements cover waste management, women’s entrepreneurship, manufacturing, aerospace, space technology, and food processing.
A major initiative will come through an MoU with AGS-ITC, which will run a 15-year programme to convert waste into wealth. The project includes door-to-door awareness drives and school campaigns to promote sustainable waste management.
Women’s participation in the local economy will be strengthened under an agreement with SheLeads, which will provide training and market support to self-help groups. The programme aims to create 10,000 women entrepreneurs by tapping into rural markets.
In the industrial sector, Kings Wood Décor Pvt. Ltd. will establish a medium-density fibreboard (MDF) manufacturing plant with an investment of ₹1,100 crore, expected to generate employment for over 2,000 people.
Pioneer Clean Amps Ltd. will set up a unit to produce two-seater training aircraft. With an investment of ₹150 crore, the facility will manufacture 70 to 100 aircraft annually and employ about 250 people.
Kuppam’s profile in advanced technology will rise with Bengaluru-based Ethereal Exploration Guild agreeing to build a facility for its medium-lift launch rocket, Razor Crest MK-1. The ₹500-crore project, to be implemented in three phases, is expected to provide 500 jobs.
In the food sector, Red Berry Food Logistics will establish an agri-tech and food processing hub at a cost of ₹300 crore. With mango, guava, and tomato pulping units, the hub is projected to support farmers, strengthen the supply chain, and create livelihood opportunities for 15,000 people.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the agreements mark a significant step in transforming Kuppam into a centre for innovation and agriculture-based growth. “These projects will create jobs, encourage women’s entrepreneurship, and bring advanced technologies to rural areas,” he said.
