SIT Sleuths Grill Four Accused In AP Liquor Scam Case

SIT officials grilled four key accused in the AP liquor scam on Friday, questioning them on money trails, property deals, and family investments linked to the illegal proceeds.

Vijayawada: Sleuths of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of CID grilled the four accused in the AP liquor scam for several hours after taking them into custody here on Friday.

The four include the main accused Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy, Dhananjaya Reddy, Krishna Mohan Reddy and Balaji Govindappa.

SIT chief and police commissioner S.V. Rajasekhar Babu is learnt to have posed several questions while questioning them separately. The accused have separately been asked about where the money collected as part of the scam has been invested, details of properties purchased with that money, investments made by family members of the accused and purchases made with that money.

SIT sleuths are said to have obtained information with regard to registration of properties from the Stamps and Registrations department. They grilled the accused about who had purchased the assets and in whose name they had been registered.

Sources said the SIT will continue to grill the four accused for the second day on Saturday.

Earlier during the day, SIT personnel took the accused from the district jail to the government hospital for medical examination. Later, they took them to the SIT office for questioning.

Police have so far arrested seven persons in connection with the AP liquor scam case.
