Settipalli land issue; 2,200 beneficiaries to get housing plots

The minister underlined that Tirupati district has strong growth potential, aligning with the state’s high overall growth rate.

Tirupati: The long-pending Settipalli land issue in Tirupati is set for resolution, with the state government preparing to allot housing plots to nearly 2,200 eligible families.

Revenue minister and district in-charge Anagani Satya Prasad said top-level intervention, involving the CCLA, municipal administration minister, himself and officials, has paved the way for a solution. With this, Settipalli will develop into a model township.
The minister made these remarks during the public grievance redressal programme at the District Collectorate on Tuesday. He said the coalition government is committed to the welfare of the poor and is actively working to resolve revenue and land-related issues through platforms like PGRS and revenue conferences. He added that these grievances are being regularly reviewed by the Chief Minister in coordination with district authorities.
Satya Prasad attributed many pending complaints to errors by the previous administration. He assured that the current government will address these issues through structured follow-ups.

On the development front, he said 2,500 acres would be acquired for the second phase of Sri City. Officials have been asked to expedite the process. Plans are underway to allocate land for the upcoming Lulu Mall. Land regularisation under G.O. 30 will ensure clear titles for the urban poor on undisputed lands.
Highlighting major infrastructure projects, Satya Prasad said that the ₹1,500 crore Krishnapatnam corridor, the Nadikudi-Srikalahasti railway line, and ₹6,000 crore worth of roads across key towns are set for completion by 2027. He added that the TDR bond issue in Tirupati is under active review.
On the tourism and sports front, the minister said ₹100 crore have been sanctioned for de-silting of Pulicat Lake. 34 acres in Daminedu have been earmarked for an integrated sports complex. He maintained that Vision 2047 will guide decentralised development across Amaravati, Rayalaseema, Tirupati, and Visakhapatnam.
Those present at the programme included district collector Dr. S. Venkateswar, joint collector Shubham Bansal, municipal commissioner M. Maurya, and MLAs Bojjala Sudheera Reddy, Pulivarthi Nani and N. Vijayashree.
