When TD leadership allotted the Nallacheruvu ZPTC seat to Sreeram, it had been understood that he would be considered for the ZP chairperson’s post.
In the interim, following discussions within the NDA alliance, the TD high command agreed to allot six ZP chairperson posts to the Jana Sena as part of the alliance arrangement. As part of the arrangement, Satya Sai ZP chairperson post has gone to the JS. Further, Jana Sena senior leader Chilakam Madhusudan Reddy, who contested as a ZPTC member, has also won.
The latest development comes as a setback for Sreeram, who could not secure the TD ticket for the Dharmavaram Assembly constituency in the last general elections, as the seat was allotted to the BJP. Sreeram has since been serving as the TD in-charge for Dharmavaram.
