The accused confessed to committing all 10 break-ins during the day and night: Superintendent of police Vakul Jindal

VIJAYAWADA: Tadepalli police arrested a habitual burglar involved in a series of break-ins and recovered stolen property worth 9.11 lakh, including gold and silver ornaments valued at 4.79 lakh and 4.32 lakh in cash. The accused, identified as Shaik Hussain alias Beggar, 28, a rowdy-sheeter with a criminal history, was found to be involved in 10 theft cases within the Tadepalli police station limits.

Guntur superintendent of police Vakul Jindal said a special team led by Tadepalli CI Veerendra Babu nabbed the accused using CCTV camera footage and technical surveillance, following a complaint from a Nulakapeta resident whose house was burgled on the night of December 24, 2025, with ₹2.10 lakh stolen. Further probe revealed a similar modus operandi in other cases.

The accused confessed to committing all 10 break-ins during the day and night, said the SP.
Warning that the PD Act would be invoked against habitual property offenders, the SP urged residents to install CCTV cameras and inform the local police during Sankranti holidays to avoid break-ins under the LHMS scheme.
