Semiconductor Innovation Drive Begins At CUTM

Industry leaders also lent their support to the initiative

Visakhapatnam: Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM), Vizianagaram, has taken another step forward in advancing semiconductor education and industry collaboration with the launch of the Dreamchip Siddhi, VLSI Semiconductor Design Lab.

The initiative, part of the Supercomputing Consortium of India (SCCI) and executed in collaboration with Dreamchip Electronics Private Limited, was formally unveiled at an event held on Friday. Sankhya Technologies developed the newly introduced VLSI design kits in Visakhapatnam. They will be manufactured at AMTZ (Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone) in Visakhapatnam by Dreamchip Electronics, a global leader in model-based automation and synthetic processor technology. The lab will provide Centurion University with facilities for FPGA-based chip design and verification, enabling students and faculty to gain hands-on experience with advanced semiconductor technologies.

The initiative was guided by the university’s leadership team, including vice president Prof. D.N. Rao, chancellor Prof. G.S.N. Raju, vice-chancellor Prof. Prashanta Kumar Mohanty, and academic coordinators Prof. D. Srinivasa Rao, Dr. P.A. Sunny Dayal, Dr. Joginaidu, Dr. Chandrasekhar Das, Dr. Ramya, and Sagar.

Their efforts were instrumental in facilitating the collaboration and ensuring that the lab serves as a valuable resource for education and research in the VLSI and semiconductor domains.

Industry leaders also lent their support to the initiative. Gopi and Murali from Sankhya Technologies, along with Prof. KCB Rao from SCCI, interacted with CUTM faculty and students during the event.
