A video surfaced online featuring a Dalit man, Perupogu Kranthi Kumar, who had accused Inspector Nagaraju of driving him to suicide through his alleged harassment and torture.

Vijayawada: With the Andhra Pradesh police booking a case against Inspector Nagaraju in the ‘missing’ case of Gade Sai Krishna ( 23) on Friday, after the victim's mother claimed that the inspector had tortured and allegeldy killed her son while in custody at the Krishna Lanka Police Station, a selfie video featuring a man identified as Perupogu Kranthi Kumar, accusing the inspector of driving him to suicide surfaced on social media.

In the selfie video, Kumar, who claims to be a Dalit, in an emotional post, alleges that Inspector Nagaraju was beating him and torturing him every day over the past three months and that he was ending his life due to Nagaraju's harassment, and the man is seen consuming some material before the video ends. The incident is said to have taken place on May 21. On May 22nd, Kumar’s father filed a complaint with the police over his son’s death.

The video went viral in the wake of his case also being linked to Sai Krishna's missing case and the inspector Nagaraju’s role in these two incidents.

Sai Krishna's mother, Gade Vijaya Lakshmi, lodged a complaint against Nagaraju on Thursday evening, and the police registered the FIR on Friday. AP Police booked Nagaraju under BNS Sections 103 (1), 127 (4), and 127 (6) and also BNSS 238. While BNS Section 103 deals with murder, Section 127 pertains to wrongful confinement. BNSS 238 deals with the "Effect of errors" in criminal charges.

The 'missing' case made the state government take it up seriously, prompting Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to appoint a senior IPS officer to probe the case. The AP government has suspended Nagaraju, following protests from family members and civil society organisations over the alleged illegal confinement and torture of Sai Krishna.
