Secretariat to Host 15th National Voters’ Day

Vijayawada: An awareness drive on the ‘Right to Vote’ will mark the 15th National Voters’ Day celebrations at the Secretariat on Friday at 11 am
General Administration Department principal secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena announced that as January 25 is a holiday, the event has been rescheduled for Friday. The drive aims to raise awareness about voting rights.
Officials and staff from all departments are urged to attend the event at the first bloc of the Secretariat and take the National Voters’ Day pledge.
YSRC to launch protests on fee reimbursement on Feb 5
Vijayawada: YSR Congress general secretary and MLC Lella Appi Reddy announced a statewide protest on February 5 to address issues related to fee reimbursement. The protests, to be held across all district headquarters, aim to demand the release of pending dues and highlight the government’s failures in supporting underprivileged students.
Speaking to media persons on Thursday, Appi Reddy criticised Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu for disrupting the fee reimbursement scheme. “Chandrababu ignored the needs of poor students and failed to release funds, hindering their educational aspirations,” he said.
As part of the campaign, YSRC leaders, students, and parents will meet district collectors to demand the immediate release of pending dues.
Anita celebrates Nara Lokesh's Birthday in Payakaraopeta
Visakhapatnam: State Home and Disaster Management Minister Vangalapudi Anitha organised celebrations for Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh’s birthday in the Payakaraopeta constituency. The event, coordinated by local youth and leaders from the IT Development Program (ITDP) and the Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF), included the distribution of fruits to patients at the Nakkapalli government hospital. This was followed by a padayatra from the hospital to the minister’s residence in Saripallipalem, where supporters raised slogans in admiration of Lokesh.
Minister Anitha celebrated the occasion by cutting a cake at her residence. Attendees commended Lokesh’s efforts in establishing a workers' welfare fund. The event saw participation from Lalam Kashi Naidu, general secretary of the TD Anakapalle district, along with leaders from four mandals.
