Flood rescue drill held at Hussainsagar
HYDERABAD: The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) conducted a live flood rescue demonstration on Friday at the Water Sports Training Centre, Hussainsagar, Secunderabad. The event showcased the skills of SDRF teams from the 1st, 3rd and 8th battalions in saving lives during flood emergencies.
The demonstration began at 4.40 pm with personnel taking positions on the lake in the presence of the Director General of Police (DGP) Jitender and other senior officials.
The live rescue demonstrations included the rescue of victims stranded on rooftops during floods using a peddling boat, the rescue of victims submerged in floodwaters with a peddling boat, and the rescue of victims submerged in floodwaters using a speed boat.
Following the demonstrations, the SDRF teams performed a water parade. The latest SDRF equipment was displayed and trainers were honoured with mementos by the DGP.
