SCR Vijayawada Holds Tiranga Rally Ahead Of I-Day
Vijayawada divisional railway manager (DRM) Mohit Sonakiya flagged off the bikers and cyclists from the historic Clock Tower near Vijayawada Railway Station.
VIJAYAWADA: As part of the on-going Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign – 2025, the Vijayawada Division of South Central Railways (SCR) organised a Bike and Cycle procession in Vijayawada city on Tuesday. Vijayawada divisional railway manager (DRM) Mohit Sonakiya flagged off the bikers and cyclists from the historic Clock Tower near Vijayawada Railway Station. With the Tricolour held high, the procession coursed through Station Road, BRTS Road, and culminated into a gathering at the Electrical Traction Training Centre, Satyanarayanapuram. Addressing the gathering, DRM Sonakiya praised the overwhelming participation in the nation-wide Har Ghar Tiranga—a celebration of freedom, unity, and unwavering patriotism. He underlined that Indian Railways is not only the lifeline of the nation’s infrastructure but also a torchbearer of civic responsibility and patriotic values. Adding to the campaign’s vibrancy, the Commercial department at Vijayawada Railway Station and Divisional offices set up Tiranga Exhibition Galleries and Selfie Booths, allowing citizens and staff to capture their moments of national pride. In addition to railway employees from across various departments of Vijayawada division, volunteers from Scouts and Guides, Jack & Jill School and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Vijayawada, participated in the programme.
