SCoR Records 100% Water Test Compliance

South Coast Railway’s week-long water testing drive found all tested drinking water samples fit, with one chemical test result awaited.

South Coast Railway conducted a week-long drinking water testing drive from September 25 to October 1 across all four divisions to ensure safe and potable water for passengers and railway residents.

At 70 railway stations, 2,677 samples were tested for residual chlorine, while 226 samples from 82 stations were checked for bacteriological parameters, with all found fit. Seven chemical samples were also tested, of which six were declared fit and one result was awaited.

In railway colonies and associated facilities, 836 samples from 20 locations were tested for residual chlorine and 85 samples from nine locations for bacteriological parameters. Seven chemical samples from two locations also met safety norms.

South Coast Railway general manager Sandeep Mathur is conducting weekly reviews of drinking water quality across the zone.
