SCoR Conducts 15-Day Ticket Checking Drive Across Zone

VISAKHAPATNAM: South Coast Railway (SCoR) conducted a 15-day ticket checking drive across the zone from September 7 to 21, 2026, to detect ticketing irregularities and enforce passenger discipline.
During the fortnight-long drive, round-the-clock ticket checking was carried out at major railway stations, on trains and at key passenger interchange points. The drive focused on ticketless and irregular travel, misuse of travel concessions, carriage of unbooked luggage and other ticketing irregularities.
The drive also aimed at enforcing cleanliness norms on railway premises in accordance with the Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Act-2026.
According to a release issued on Thursday, 46,156 passengers were penalised for travelling without valid tickets, irregular travel, carrying unbooked luggage and violations such as littering and smoking on railway premises.
A total fine of Rs 3.56 crore was collected during the 15-day drive.
