SC Permits Former MLA Pedda Reddy To Visit Tadipatri

Vijayawada: The Supreme Court has allowed former YSR Congress MLA Kethireddy Pedda Reddy to visit his residence in Tadipatri, Anantapur district.
A bench comprising Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta heard the special leave petition, which was mentioned and argued by senior advocate Siddharth Dave in New Delhi on Friday.
Advocate Dave submitted that his client was willing to bear the expenses for his security but should be permitted to visit his residence.
The bench, however, questioned whether he already had personal security, observing that he should spend money on it. The senior advocate responded that even if his client bore the cost, the state was not absolved of its responsibility to protect him, alleging rampant abuse of power by the ruling political party.
Following the submissions, the bench decided to keep in abeyance the Andhra Pradesh High Court’s earlier order that had permitted restricted entry into Tadipatri.
