Sanitation Worker Unveils Book on President Draupadi Murmu

He added that the President’s journey continued to inspire women, tribal communities and marginalised sections across the country

VISAKHAPATNAM: In a symbolic gesture underscoring social inclusion, a sanitation worker employed at Andhra University on Wednesday released a biography of President Draupadi Murmu, authored by former MP and academician Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad.

The book, titled Agni Sarassulo Vikasinchina Kamalam Draupadi Murmu a metaphor likening her journey to a lotus blooming in fire traces the President’s rise from hardship to becoming India’s highest constitutional authority.

The release took place in the early hours on Thursday under a tree on the Andhra University campus.

Explaining the choice of a sanitation worker to unveil the book, Prof Lakshmi Prasad said it was a deliberate act to reflect the values embodied by the President. He said her life story demonstrated that greatness could emerge from the most challenging circumstances and was not merely a political narrative but a deeply human one.

He added that the President’s journey continued to inspire women, tribal communities and marginalised sections across the country.
