Sana Satish Seeks Net-Zero Pilot Village in Kakinada District

Sana Satish and Prathipadu MLA Varupula Satya Prabha held a meeting with officials on Thursday and suggested that Uttarakanchi be selected as a pilot village for the initiative.

Kakinada:Rajya Sabha member Sana Satish has asked officials to develop Uttarakanchi village in Prathipadu mandal of Kakinada district as a net-zero model village using solar energy and biogas.

Sana Satish and Prathipadu MLA Varupula Satya Prabha held a meeting with officials on Thursday and suggested that Uttarakanchi be selected as a pilot village for the initiative.

He asked officials to conduct a door-to-door survey covering household electricity consumption, solar energy potential, solar pumps for agriculture, biogas facilities, sanitation and underground pipeline infrastructure.

He also called for awareness programmes on government subsidies for solar energy schemes, savings in electricity costs and potential income-generating opportunities under the net-zero model.

Sana Satish directed officials to complete the arrangements by October and work in coordination to avoid delays. He said he would review the project on September 10 and asked officials to complete the survey, assess power consumption, examine solarisation of street lights, biogas and solar pump requirements, mobilise funds and identify infrastructure needs before the review.

Former ZPTC member Thota Naveen, TD spokesperson Saripella Rajesh, District Panchayat Officer Ravi Kumar, Kakinada district superintendent engineer Rajeswari and others were present.
