Sambara Polamamba Jatara starts;collector oversees arrangements

Visakhapatnam:The much-awaited Sambara Polamamba Jatara kick-started here on Monday. The three-day celebration which commenced from January 27 will conclude on January 29. District collector A. Shyam Prasad along with his family members visited Polamamba Ammavari temple and performed puja. After performing puja, the collector inspected the arrangements at the venue.

Following the declaration of Sambara Jatara as state programme, the collector gave instructions to officials to oversee the arrangements at the venue. Prasad also told officials to ensure drinking water supply and toilet facilities on temporary and permanent basis made available to devotees.

The collector also inspected the lighting arrangements, construction of pathways for devotees that too free from obstructions, establishment of medical camps and ban on plastic or poly bags, and setting up of signboards to guide devotees visiting the temple.

Besides, the RTC buses have been arranged to carry people to Sambara Jatara festival venue.
