Sailaja Takes Charge As AP Women’s Commission Chairperson

Vijayawada: Rayapati Sailaja assumed office as chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh State Women's Commission on Monday, pledging to combat atrocities against women and ensure swift justice for victims.
Speaking after her swearing-in ceremony at the Commission's Mangalagiri office, she outlined her agenda for women's empowerment. "I will work relentlessly to resolve pending cases and bring serious matters to the National Women's Commission's attention when necessary.”
The new chairperson announced plans to launch a dedicated website, enabling direct reporting of crimes against women and promised strict action against those posting obscene content targeting women on social media platforms.
She emphasised her commitment to serving all citizens regardless of political affiliation while ensuring speedy justice delivery. She expressed gratitude to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, IT minister Nara Lokesh, and Union minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar for their support.
