Sai Krishna Custodial Case Update: 2 Head Constables Surrender

The SIT, headed by Inspector General of Police M. Ravi Prakash, has named both head constables as key suspects for their alleged role in the torture, murder, and destruction of evidence.

Vijayawada: In a major development in the Sai Krishna custodial torture and missing case, two head constables from Krishnalanka Police Station, Ashok and Jangam Nani, surrendered before the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) office in Suryaraopet under the Vijayawada City Police Commissionerate in NTR district on Monday evening.

The SIT, headed by Inspector General of Police M. Ravi Prakash, has named both head constables as key suspects for their alleged role in the torture, murder, and destruction of evidence. Investigators zeroed in on Ashok, Jangam Nani, and suspended CI SSVV Nagaraju’s friend Suresh after examining call detail records (CDRs) and CCTV footage.

Suresh was earlier traced in Bengaluru and is also being questioned about his role. Earlier on Monday, SIT officials arrested crime constable Babu Rao and produced him in court.

Police have taken Ashok and Jangam Nani into custody and are questioning them about the day Sai Krishna was allegedly detained illegally and subjected to custodial torture by Nagaraju, the prime accused in the case.

Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh High Court heard a habeas corpus petition in the Sai Krishna case on Monday. The court adjourned the hearing on the plea seeking a CBI probe to July 15. The investigation is ongoing, and further legal proceedings are underway.
