RySS Conducts Five-day Training for Trainee ICRPs
The trainees visited Midamanuru village in Tanguturu mandal, where they inspected an A-grade chickpea field cultivated by progressive farmer Kakumani Murali.
Nellore: A five-day district-level training programme for trainee Internal Community Resource Persons (ICRPs) was held under the aegis of the Andhra Pradesh Rythu Sadhikara Samstha (RySS) in Prakasam district, focusing on natural and sustainable farming practices.
As part of the training, a field exposure visit was conducted on Thursday to provide practical, hands-on learning. The trainees visited Midamanuru village in Tanguturu mandal, where they inspected an A-grade chickpea field cultivated by progressive farmer Kakumani Murali. They later visited the farm of farmer Vijayalakshmi, where they received practical training and actively participated in setting up the ATM (Any Time Money) model to understand its implementation at the grassroots level.
The trainees were also trained in the preparation of Ghana Jeevamrutham, Drava Jeevamrutham, Beejamrutham and organic potash, reinforcing the principles of natural farming.
Addressing the trainees, district project manager Subhashini said intercropping chickpea with crops such as mustard and sunflower can help naturally control the green pod borer pest. She added that adoption of the ATM model enables farmers to secure a steady and continuous income.
Tanguturu mandal agricultural officer Yugender Reddy advised farmers to reduce risk and improve profitability by adopting mixed cropping systems instead of depending on a single crop.
The field visit was attended by Subhashini, Yugender Reddy, DPMU staff, SPMU team member Sumanjali, farmer master trainers, VAA Bharat, trainee ICRPs and local farmers.
