Russian, AP Officials Explore Skill Development Cooperation
Delegation explores training, tech transfer, and joint projects

Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) hosted a Russian delegation comprising representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), academic experts, and technical specialists, here on Tuesday to explore international collaboration in technical and vocational education and training.
The event was inaugurated by Principal Secretary (skill development) Kona Sasidhar, with APSSDC MD and CEO Ganesh Kumar in attendance. The 12-member Russian team, led by senior RSPP officials, included experts in mechanical, electrical, welding and metallurgy disciplines.
Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.P. Raja Sekhar underlined the role of academia in integrated skill initiatives. Discussions revolved around curriculum co-development, apprenticeships, hands-on training, and technology transfer.
A key outcome of the visit was the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between APSSDC and the Committee of Professional Education of RSPP, enabling joint projects, training modules, and knowledge exchange to prepare job-ready professionals for both Indian and Russian industries.
The official visit is set to be followed by a series of workshops, industry interactions, and bilateral knowledge exchanges over the coming days, reaffirming a joint commitment to impactful and global-standard skill development.
The delegation also visited Government Polytechnic College, Visakhapatnam, and will interact with more institutions during its three-day tour.
