Runaway Kurnool Boy Returns Home to Emotional Reunion After 30 Years
A man who ran away from his Kurnool home after failing his Class 10 exams reunited with his family after nearly 30 years in an emotional homecoming.
In a touching incident, a boy who had run away from home in Emmiganur constituency of Kurnool district reunited with his family after nearly 30 years.
According to locals, two boys, both relatives, left their village in 1996 after failing in their Class 10 examinations. They travelled to Mumbai by train. While one of them returned home after four years, the other continued to live in Mumbai before moving to Bengaluru in search of livelihood. He later settled there, got married, and secured voter registration. He also has a daughter.
The man decided to trace his roots after officials, during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, informed him that details of his parents’ voter ID cards are required to retain his vote. This prompted him to return to his native place.
On reaching home, he recognised his mother instantly and called out to her affectionately. However, she could not identify him at first. Only after he shared details about his schooling and named his siblings did she realise he was her long-lost son. Overcome with emotion, she broke down in tears.
The man, identified as Ramudu, son of B. Yellamma and Yellanna, arrived home along with his wife and daughter, leaving the entire family overwhelmed. Neighbours too gathered to witness the emotional reunion.
