RTGS CCTV360 Turning Criminals’ Escape Route Into Dead End In AP

In the Tiruvuru case of April 7, a miscreant stole valuables from a house and fled on the homeowner’s Bullet motorcycle. Police immediately tapped into the RTGS-powered CCTV360 network.

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh’s advanced surveillance ecosystem is rapidly outsmarting criminals, turning every street into a monitored zone and every escape route into a dead end.

At the core of this transformation is the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS), whose CCTV360 platform is enabling police to track suspects in real time, ensuring swift arrests and quick resolution of cases.

According to RTGS officials, recent incidents in Tiruvuru and Ongole illustrate how artificial intelligence and surveillance analytics are reshaping policing on the ground.

In the Tiruvuru case of April 7, a miscreant stole valuables from a house and fled on the homeowner’s Bullet motorcycle. Police immediately tapped into the RTGS-powered CCTV360 network. By analysing live surveillance feeds and vehicle movement, the system generated instant alerts and pinpointed the bike’s location.

Police mobilised teams swiftly along the route, leading to the arrest of the accused within minutes and recovery of the stolen valuables as well as the vehicle.

Officials disclosed that the system tracked the bike across eight locations spanning Krishna and Godavari regions, proving crucial in solving the case.

In another case on April 4, a speeding biker hit a pedestrian near the NTR statue junction in Kandukur and fled. Police registered a case and sought RTGS assistance. Using CCTV360 and an AI-powered Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system, officials tracked the suspect vehicle across multiple locations.

On April 12 at around 10:30 a.m., an ANPR-enabled Matrix camera at the Ongole RTC bus stand identified the vehicle and triggered an instant alert with route details. Police acted immediately, intercepting the vehicle and arresting the accused, showcasing the precision of AI-led policing.

RTGS officials disclosed that the CCTV360 system enables historical tracking, real-time monitoring, predictive movement analysis, and instant alerts to field officers.

Andhra Pradesh has over 14,700 high-tech cameras, all integrated into the RTGS network, ensuring seamless 360-degree surveillance across districts.

Officials declared that as per the vision of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, these AI-enabled cameras are helping resolve crimes, detecting traffic violations, identifying law and order and hit-and-run cases, and enabling rapid disaster response.
