Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) has emerged as a key technological tool aiding police investigations, helping crack multiple cases across the state through its CCTV360 surveillance platform.
Officials said the system played a decisive role in five recent cases, including tracing missing persons, tracking suspects in murder and robbery cases, and recovering a stolen motorcycle. It has also strengthened coordination among police units and enabled real-time monitoring of suspects.
Among the cases, three missing women, including two minors, were traced using digital surveillance and alerts generated by the RTGS network.
In one case, a 17-year-old girl who went missing from Nandavaram in Kurnool district on April 22 was traced in Vijayawada after police uploaded her photograph into the system. Alerts enabled police teams to locate and reunite her with her family.
In another instance, a 16-year-old girl missing from Gadivemula in Nandyal district on April 25 was traced in Ongole using vehicle tracking and facial recognition technologies.
A third case involved a 22-year-old woman who went missing from Rompicherla in Chittoor district. Using Person of Interest (POI) and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technologies, police tracked the suspect vehicle and intercepted it in Chittoor town.
The system also helped solve a murder and robbery case in Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district by capturing suspicious movements near the crime scene. Police arrested the accused and recovered stolen property, with the footage expected to serve as evidence.
In another case, RTGS CCTV360 aided in recovering a motorcycle stolen in Polavaram police station limits of Eluru district by tracking its movement to Kadiyam.
Officials said the RTGS network has strengthened inter-district coordination, enabling seamless sharing of real-time intelligence and faster resolution of cases.
