Rs 8.74-cr Facelift Push for Narasimhakonda Temple
Foundation laid for infrastructure upgrades and improved pilgrim amenities
Nellore: The historic Vedagiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Narasimhakonda is set for a major facelift, with the state government launching development works worth Rs 8.74 crore to enhance the temple’s infrastructure and provide better facilities for devotees.
Endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, along with Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Kotamreddy Giridhar Reddy, laid the foundation stone for the works, funded through the common good fund (CGF).
The development plan aims to transform the renowned hill shrine into a more attractive and spiritually vibrant pilgrimage centre while improving amenities for devotees from the Nellore district and other parts of the state.
The proposed works are intended to strengthen basic infrastructure and improve the overall facilities and surroundings of the temple, enhancing the experience of pilgrims visiting the shrine.
The government has taken up the initiative following the special efforts of Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and the Kotamreddy brothers, who have pushed for a comprehensive development plan for the temple.
Officials said the development of Narasimhakonda would continue in phases, with the focus on making the pilgrimage centre more aesthetically appealing, spiritually enriching and comfortable for devotees.
