Government sanctions funds to complete 432 flats near Nelapadu for MLAs, MLCs and AIS officers

Vijayawada: In a significant step towards the development of the Amaravati Capital Region, the Municipal Administration and Urban Development (CRDA) Department has granted administrative sanction of Rs 524.70 crore for completing the residential quarters for MLAs, MLCs and All India Services officers near Nelapadu.

S. Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Government, MA&UD (CRDA), issued G.O. Rt. No. 676 on Sunday, sanctioning the amount for pending works, which include architectural finishes, internal and external electrical works, plumbing and sanitary fittings, fire-fighting systems, lifts, diesel generator sets, HVAC, security systems, external development, and landscaping.

The project consists of 432 apartment units in 18 multi-storeyed towers (S+12 floors) designated for elected representatives and officers. The sanctioned works will be taken up under a lump-sum contract system, with a two-year defect liability period.

The government also ratified the action of the APCRDA Commissioner in inviting and finalising tenders based on the APCRDA Authority Resolution No. 467/2024, dated October 16, 2024. The Commissioner of APCRDA, Vijayawada, has been directed to take further necessary action accordingly.
